Yuping Liu

Yuping Liu, Ph.D has been teaching a wide variety of courses including Internet Marketing and Advertising to both undergraduate and MBA students since 2002 at Old Dominion University. She also teaches a doctoral seminar on Current Issues and Topics in Marketing and has served on the dissertation committees of several doctoral students.

Dr Liu is Associate Professor of Marketing and E. V. Williams Faculty Fellow in the College of Business and Public Administration at Old Dominion University. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Renmin University of China in 1996 and her MBA and Ph.D. in Management (Marketing Concentration) from Rutgers University in 2002. Dr. Liu's research focuses on the intersection among marketing, technology, and consumer psychology. Her main research areas include Internet marketing, loyalty programs, and customer relationship management. Dr. Liu's publications have appeared in Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, and Business Horizons, among others.

Dr Liu's research stream focuses on the effective and ethical use of the Internet to market firms’ products and services. She is particularly interested in the implications of the unique interactive nature of the Internet.
